LESSONS LEARNT

Assalamualaikum.
firstly from this DST project, we learn lots of thing especially about why people become homeless. they gots their own reason and also influence by environment. we also know that our goverment never lets them being alone. we know that goverment give their best to overcome this situations which is they build Rumah Sementara such as Anjung Singgah for people who involve in this situation.
from this project we know that goverment give food also knowledge to them. the aim why goverment build this home because they want to help the homeless. this is one of the house that they can stay for a while. goverment support all the utility, food and also try to motivate them.
however, this DST  also indirectly train ourselves to foster a spirit of cooperation with each other. Although we all have the same problems that the constraints of time, but we try to use reasonable effort to complete this task. co-operation is important in an organization in launching a task. besides, this task is to train ourselves to build a spirit of leadership. This is clear when our lead an important role when constantly remind us of this task. From there we had see leadership qualities can be nurtured through an assignment that given. last but not least, this documentary also indirectly training our team members to be more creative and innovative. this is because, during the production of this video we need lots of ideas to make this documentary being fantastic to people who see it. :)

Good and Bad During Doing On DST!!

Through our experience conduct and implement this project DST, we encountered with various experience that good and not less than bad experiences..
Firstly, when undertaking the project this DST, high;y valuable experience do us was, concern shown by our lecture who is Madam Hafizah Latif. This case because she always remember us to get ready with our presentation. Although, our setrather slow presenting this DST, but we still pull off.
Secondly, we can learn matter that is new by namely for ise software photostory that all this while we never occurred to use it.
This experience we believe extremely priced because, it teach us meaning of patience when use it. Furthermore among us only had skilled by use Window Movie Maker.
After that, in this priject deliverables DST, also have new experince that is extremely priced whre, we successfully to created close cooperation spirit.
Honestly that we said, we extremely run out og time, deliver only make our project DST, a day before our presentation. However woth cooperative spirit that we we have there us, we manages to resolve.
Next, the valuable experience that we achieve was we could unearth talent hidden between our member group. Fpr example our group leader that certainly skilled in this kind. She that one helps and contribute more on our deliverables on DST.
Apart from that, with the exixtence of this project implementation DST, we also indirectly disclosed with atmosphere taht is new of which in our class can get to know with other friends that different course. Here, we can trade mode this project deliverables DST.
Nevertheless, in our enjoying gain experience that priced, we also served with experience that quite, on be burdening us that is when we conduct this project recording DST, we had to faced various complication among them:
We had to make repeatedly recording because from the face problem deal with technical in laptop.
After that, we had to stay in FSSK in hour solely 9PM to complete our DST project.
Apart from that, the experience that can be considerd bad for us during we was recording our voice, that the appearance of voice that is undesirable namely motorcycle rumbling sound that make automatically we laugh among each others.

CAUSES OF HOMELESSNESS...

1) POVERTY, JOBLESSNESS, EDUCATION AND LITERACY.......
Poverty is closely linked of homelessness. When people lack income to meet all their needs. They are forced to choose between housing untilities, transportation, childcare, healthcare and food. One of quater of the homeless individuals surveyed as part of the night count were employed. Nationally on similiarly high proportion of homeless individuals are employed. However, wages are often not sufficient to ensure housing stability and many people do not have jobs that provide living wages, health insurance or high job security. Half of homeless adults have incomes of less than RM300 per month. A lack of educational opportunity limits acces to living-wage jobs. Reseacrh had shown the lack of a high scholl diploma to associated with homeless for individuals and families.

2) DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Domestic violence is a factor of homelessness, particularly for women and children. Nationally, studies indicate that up to half of homeless women with children may have experienced domestic violence prior to becoming homeless. In 2007 of the over 7,000 people counted in the One Noght Count, more than 1,000 cited domestic violence as a significant factor of their homelessness.

3) EFFECTS OF MENTAL ILLNESS AND CHEMICAL ADDICTION
People who have complex life issuues related to mental illness and subtance use are seen in higher numbers among homeless persond than the general population. Nationally, between 20 and 25 percent of homeless persons are living with a serve mental illness. While information about addiction is less definitive, alcohol and  drug use is noted a large number of homeless persons. Untreated mental illness and subtances use issues clearly affect housing stability and success.

4) LACK OF COMMUNITY SUPPORTS
All of the problems listed above are exacerbated when individuals and families lack of network of social support. Many people experience difficulties in their life. for most people, families, churches, neighborhoods and schools operate as webs of support are no longer available because they have fled their community to escape domestic violence have been reject by their parents over lifestyle differences, because they have ''burned through'' their support systems due to multiple difficulties or for many other reasons. for those without support, a single crisis and homelessness, and without that community support, the path back out of homelessness is vastly more difficult.

How to solve the problems.

there are lots of way to overcome this situations. but i will highlight few of it.
  • trade fairs for homeless :
In the fall of 2004, a group of homeless advocates in San Francisco tried an experiment. They rented a local convebtion hall, persuaded nearly every social service provider in their city to set up a table, and opened what amounted to a trade fair for homeless people. In addition to information about every short and long term housing program available in the city, project homeless connect provided clothing, shoes, free phone calls, counselling, medical treatment, dental care, eye exams and glasses, benifits information, goverment identification cards and more. There was live music, free food and yes even secure valet parking for shopping carts, so that clients could wander the aisles without fear of having their few possession stolen.
  • train young workers :
Those with the highest risk of becoming homeless are young adults disharged from institutions aush as jail or foster care. Lacking even basic emplyoyment skills, a terriby high percentage of them wind up on the streets. Even day labour can be hard to get for people who lack required work clothes such as steel-toed boots.
  • bring goverment together :
Political leaders  will recognize that it's cheaper to prevent homeless then find the ongoing treatment of individual homeless. When they do, they will be no shortage of policy suggestions awaiting their attention.

EFFECTS OF HOMELESS

1. Instability
  • homelessness leaves affected youth no permanent address, making it virtually impossible to attend school, obtain employment, secure food and shelter, and survive.
2. physical health
  • due to poor diet, malnutrition and exposure, homeless youth are at greater risk of suffering from chronic health disorders like asthma, anorexia, and diarhoea.
3. substance abuse
  • homeless youth are more likely to use and abuse drugs, and to engage in other dangerous and illegal behaviours. according to national surveys, three quarters of street youths were using marijuana, a third were using hallucinosens, and stimulants, and a quarter were using crack, others forms of cocaine, inhalants, and sedatires.
4. education
  • homeless youth have a hard time to attending school because of legal guardianship requirements, residency requirements, proper records, and lack of transportation. so, it is difficult for them to get an aducation. studies reports that as many as three quarters of homeless youth have or wil drop out of school.
5. mental health
  • homeless are more likely to suffer from anxiety disorders, depressions, postraumatic stress disorders and suicide due to the increased exposure to violence  while living on their own.
